Tournament Format & Rules
1.Both players / teams must bring an unopened tin of tennis balls. The winner of the match will keep the unopened tin for their next match.
2.Matches will be played as 8 game prosets (first to 8 games and win by 2), with a 10 pt tiebreaker played at 7-all. Deuces are to be played out.
3.The tournament will be single elimination format with seeding. The format may be changed subject to the number of entrants in each category.
4.Weekly tournament schedules will be sent out on Sunday evenings at 9 pm. To ensure that the tournament remains on schedule, matches must be completed in the week that they are assigned.
Failure to do so will result in a default.
5.Doubles events are to be played on Thursday evenings. If both teams are in mutual agreement, they may play their match on another evening of that same week.
6.Singles events may be played on any day, but they must be completed within the week. If the players cannot agree on a match date within 48 hours of the weekly schedule being released (i.e. by Tuesday at 9 pm), the higher seeded player must provide two different days and times (on a weekday evening or weekend) for their opponent to choose from. The opponent must confirm their choice of date and time within 14 hours of receiving the email.
7.In the event of a rainout, the match should be rescheduled and played ASAP (within the week). If a make-up date cannot be agreed upon, the higher seeded player/team must provide two different days and times (on a weekday evening or weekend within the week) for their opponent to choose from. The opponent must confirm their choice of date and time within 14 hours.
